Background
Vanessa started her art career as a vibrant fashion designer. Her early talent was professionally nurtured at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in the U.S.A. from where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). She continued her vigorous development at UAL’s Central St. Martins in London.
She immediately was discovered by Christian Francis Roth, whom she worked with for a few years, she then went on to design for Sonia Trussardi in New York for whom she created stunning Pret-a-Porter lines. Other major US apparel firms followed over the next ten years. She drew her focus on women’s and children’s wear and became head designer of famous fashion houses such as Artisti Italiani etc. She spread her expertise by teaching Textile Surface Design at the university of Technological Educational Institute in Athens, Greece.
The time ripened for Vanessa to create classy, bold and statement jewelry and fashion accessories. Her unique and individually designed pieces express her positive energy, extraordinary sense of taste and balanced aesthetics. Her work is mostly based on creating small “sculptures” and wearable pieces of art. Metals are transformed to look soft and fluid, yet strong and confident. Nature is one of her deepest inspirations, translated through her artistic point of view.
Her jewelry has been chosen to be featured in leading fashion magazines as VOGUE ITALIA and influential Fashion Bloggers. She has recently showed her work in New York at the MAD Museum while her Collection is been sold successfully worldwide.
